No, they don't. I've been using them for years with absolutely no problems. Nothing happens to the cell phones. The magnets in the cases are not strong enough to do any damage to your cell phone, but are strong enough to hold the case closed.Can those cellphone cases that have magnets in them harm my cell phone?
they say that putting your cell phone in contact the credit cards computer chips will mess them up.. I do believe it caused mine 2 new cingular ones to crash for good. They're toast.

Probably not, but I thought the same thing when I was buying a case for my old Treo 650. So I just got a leather one without a magnet.
